Teeling Whiskey Hybrid Edition
A Modern Jack Daniels
The Whisk(e)y market is not known for its dynamic innovation, but the Teeling Whiskey Co have mixed it up. They have released a blend that is a mix of the two giants of the industry, Ireland and Scotland. The Whiskey is a beautiful blend of 10 year old single malts from Cooley in Ireland and Bruichladdich in Scotland. This marriage or civil ceremony has created a 44% abv Cask Strength Hybrid Edition.
Teeling have produced only 1,400 bottles, and have identified the Jameson and Tullamore Dew drinkers as people who will enjoy Hybrid Edition. I do feel that this clever innovation will appeal to the elusive young adult Whisk(e)y drinker, because it has such a great story related to it.
The idea for the brand was from Jack Teeling who learnt his trade at Cooley Distillery before he sold it to Beam brands. Perhaps, in a hundred years’ time Jack Teeling maybe as infamous as Jack Daniels.
