It is a subject of great debate whether vodka or "wodka" as the Polish people say was invented in Russia or Poland. Large scale production began in Poland in the 16th century and tends to be made from rye rather than wheat. The Polish have some amazing vodkas and since they joined the EU we are benefiting from discovering these gems. Wodka means little water and as such became integral to the Polish way of life. There are thousands of different brands in Poland all just waiting to be discovered. Two brands we enjoy selling are Wyborowa, especially Wyborowa Exquisite and Zubrowka.
