I am a big admirer of Diffords Cocktail Guide which has over 3,000 Cocktail recipes to choose from. There is a really good search function and each Cocktail has it’s history explained. It is actually fun flicking through the recipes, and trying them at home. The internet does not have many good Cocktail sites in the UK, but recently I stumbled upon a new site.

Social and Cocktail was launched in the spring of 2012, and refreshing born out of Scotland, rather than the UK. Bar land tends to be overlooked by the drinks press in Glasgow and Edinburgh, which is a massive miss as it rivals anything south of the border. Social and Cocktail demonstrates this in buckets. The site has 1,400 Cocktails beautifully crafted with a great search, a ranking mechanic, their view, the origin, and an informative ‘did you know’. It already has over 1,500 subscribers and a vibrant bar review which already has over 100 bars nationwide.

Most of all I love their ‘what’s in your fridge’ section. All you do is type in the ingredients you have in your fridge and out pops a suggestion of Cocktails, which is so helpful. Social and Cocktail is without doubt a site to watch out for in the future. I wish I could do a site colab with them so that I could show their Cocktails on thepurveyor in some kind of integrated Cocktail section.
