No Wings for Felix
I have been transfixed with the bravery and sheer madness of the Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner. The winds at Roswell have so far prevented the launch of his helium balloon. The numbers on this project are eye watering. Felix will fly nearly 37km into the sky and then throw himself out of a balloon achieving Mach 1, nearly 700 miles an hour in less than a minute. It seems he will now have to wait until Thursday for the winds to fall at Roswell in New Mexico.
You may have noticed Felix is sponsored by another Austrian brand, Red Bull. For over twenty years Red Bull has associated itself with both extreme and dangerous sports. Sponsorships like this are effortless for Red Bull, after all what other brand would have fitted such bravery and sheer madness.
