Origins: Mexico

Mexico is the undisputed home of Tequila. The history of Mexico is linked very closely with Tequila. The spirit is made from the blue agave plant. Tequila wine was first made by the Conquistadors. Tequila is available as white or aged (dark) spirit and although used in some countries as a shot is has an amazing cocktail history.

The two urban myths of worms in the bottle and the agave being a cactus have only fuelled itís international popularity.
