Origins: Ireland

Well known in the alcohol world for Guinness rather than malt whisky production, it is not a surprise that some of the Irish Malts can compete with the Scottish as they have had so many historical connections over the years.

The beautiful countryside of Ireland lends itself perfectly to amazing whisky production. It is impossible to say who makes the best whisky, only to say that both nations are craftsmen in it's production. There is also a school of thought that suggest it was the Irish who first created what today we call whisky.
