The Founders Brewing Company in the US have been setting high brewing standards in recent years with ratebeer.com ranking them continuously among the top four brewers globally in the last three years. They love their innovation, and they love their seasonality. As a result they are turning autumn into Stout season, and just launched a Breakfast Stout.

Wait for it, it is not a normal run of the mill Stout, it is a chocolate and coffee infused Stout. It has been brewed as you would imagine with some special ingredients, which are Kona, and Sumatra coffee, chocolate, and of course oats. The Founders Brewing Company feel that Breakfast Stout is for the colder, wetter nights, and don’t advocate you just drink it for breakfast.

If nothing else, have a look at the Founders website, it’s a lot of fun, and some of their brews are a little different. I have no idea if they are available outside the USA, but I bet a few other boutique breweries might be following their lead.
