Pernod Fils and Hermard Distilleries created Pernod in 1920 after absinthe was banned in 1915. Pernod is made from star aniseed & fennel. It is also mixed with 14 other herb distillates. Pernod has a small liquorice content. When water is added to Pernod it turns milky. Pernod Absinthe was drunk by Van Gogh & Picasso.
